In the palm of the hand rests Stigyoden — the sacred mountain of the Gitxsan Nation in Northern British Columbia. Surrounding it are majagalee, flowers that in the Gitxsan language also mean children. And at the fingertips, feathers rise to honour the children who never made it home.
The Gitxsan Hand Wallet was created by Gitxsan artist Michelle Stoney at the request of local high school teachers, as a design to honour residential school survivors and remember those who were lost. Every element carries meaning. Every detail tells a story.
- Dimensions: 12.5cm x 21cm
- Zipper closure for secure everyday carry
- 8 card slots, 5 compartments, and 1 interior zipped pocket

- Original artwork by Gitxsan artist Michelle Stoney
