Gift Scale Photos

Want to know how big that mug, blanket, or tea towel really is before you order? Gift Scale is our honest sizing path for Indigenous gifts and cottage favorites — real reference shots on the product page when we have them, never fake AR overlays.

No invented “hand next to mug” stock photos. Until a staff or maker scale shot is on file for a product, we use written dimensions from the manufacturer or the shelf tag, and we say so.

What you will see on a product page

  • Written size: capacity (oz/ml), length/width, or weight when the supplier lists it.
  • Real scale photo (when available): mug beside a hand, blanket corner with a ruler, wallet next to a card — shot at The Old Railroad Stop or by the maker.
  • Care tip: how to wash or display, when the artist or brand provides it.

How we add scale photos

  1. Staff snaps a clear photo in good light (hand, credit card, or ruler in frame).
  2. We upload it only to that product’s gallery (PDP), not as a homepage hero crop.
  3. Credit stays with the maker / Hiawatha First Nation where relevant — we do not invent artist bios.

Need a size check now?

Call or text 705-295-GEAR (4327) with the product name. We can measure on the shelf and send a quick photo. Email oldrailroadstop@nexicom.net works too.

What we will not do

  • No AI “hand holding product” composites or stock-model AR frames.
  • No USA/politics sizing gimmicks — Canada-first cottage and gift shoppers.
  • Nothing that disrespects Hiawatha First Nation or Indigenous makers.
