Gift product pages at The Old Railroad Stop should make it easy to see who made the piece, how we credit Nations and makers with respect, and simple care tips — without turning culture into marketing hype.
This page is the storefront guide for “artist story cards” on gift PDPs. We keep language Canada-first, protect Hiawatha First Nation dignity, and never invent artist bios or Nation affiliations we do not have from the maker or supplier.
What belongs on a gift product page
- Maker / line: Artist name, studio, or licensed line (for example Oscardo or Native Northwest–style prints) when the packaging or supplier names it.
- Nation / community credit: Only when the maker or packaging states it. Link context via our Hiawatha First Nation partnership page — we do not claim every gift is HFN-made.
- Care tips: Wash, display, or food-safe notes from the label when we have them (mugs, textiles, wood, wellness).
- Honest stock: If qty looks wrong, Confirm Shelf Stock or call 705-295-GEAR (4327).
What we will not do
- No invented artist stories, sacred symbolism explanations, or “authentic Indigenous” claims without a named source.
- No USA/politics framing on gift pages — shoppers here are cottagers, travellers, and neighbours on Rice Lake / Hwy 7.

Building the cards over time
