CAD Prices & USD Estimates
Prices on this site are in Canadian dollars (CAD) by default — the same currency we use at the counter at 341 Hiawatha Line, Hiawatha First Nation.
The Old Railroad Stop ships across Canada and the US. We will not invent a live FX ticker or fake “USD savings” badges. What you see on product pages is CAD retail from our POS, before tax and shipping.
What CAD default means
- Product prices — CAD, matching the Price column on our shelf list (not cost).
- Pump prices — still ¢/L on the homepage Fuel Prices strip (Premium notes 0% ethanol). Those are not converted into USD on the strip.
- Checkout — tax and shipping calculate in CAD for Canadian addresses. US buyers may see Shopify Markets / payment-processor USD estimates at checkout when that market is enabled — those estimates come from Shopify, not a homemade converter we cannot audit hourly.
USD estimate honesty
- We do not publish a hand-maintained CAD→USD table that goes stale overnight.
- We do not claim “guaranteed USD price” on gifts or parts before you reach checkout.

What we will not do
- No auto-updating FX widget with invented rates.
- No USA/politics hype or “pay in USD and beat Amazon” claims.
