Shipping Honesty (No Fake Free Shipping)
We keep shipping talk plain: no fake free-over-$100 thresholds, no invented greenwash carbon counters, and rates you can see before you pay.
Parcels leave The Old Railroad Stop at 341 Hiawatha Line, Hiawatha First Nation (Rice Lake / Hwy 7 near Peterborough). Checkout quotes the carrier rate from weight and destination — that is the real cost.
What we will not claim
- We do not advertise free shipping or a free-over-$100 deal. If a post or ad ever sounds like that, trust checkout instead.
- We do not publish made-up kilograms of CO₂ on product pages. Carrier routes and packing vary; a fake widget would just mislead.
- We do not promise overnight arrival. Typical Canada transit windows are on our Shipping page.
Lower-impact choices that actually help
- Local pickup when you are near Hiawatha / Peterborough — no outbound parcel at all. Cold and freezer grocery is usually pickup-only anyway (Pickup vs Shipping).
- Combine items in one cart so we pack one box instead of several small ones.
- Shelf-stable gifts and drinks ship as ordinary parcels; leave refrigerated food for pickup.
How rates show up
- At checkout Shopify shows the live carrier quote for your address.
- Ontario and nearby provinces are usually the shortest haul; farther Canadian and international addresses take longer and cost more — see Shipping.
- Duties or import fees outside Canada are the buyer’s responsibility.
