Pack for the Drive
Cottage / Rice Lake weekend checklist from The Old Railroad Stop at 341 Hiawatha Line, Hiawatha First Nation (north shore of Rice Lake, minutes from Hwy 7 / Peterborough). Print this page or tick items in your notes — no signup required.
Before you leave town
- Confirm store hours: 7:00 am–9:00 pm daily (closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day).
- Check live Fuel Prices on the homepage — Premium is 0% ethanol (ethanol-free) for boats, classics, and small engines.
- Decide pickup vs ship: cold food and frozen stay pickup-only; drinks, gifts, and most automotive parts can ship (rates at checkout; no free-shipping promise).
Fuel & boat / classic car
- Fill Premium (0% ethanol) if your boat, generator, or classic prefers ethanol-free — see Ethanol-Free Premium and myths.
- Need a propane top-up? 20 lb / 100 lb refill guide (hours + tank rules).
- Storm or outage? Check Fuel & Storm Status before you drive out.
Car kit (quick stop)
- Wipers / filters / pads — call 705-295-GEAR (4327) to confirm shelf stock; winter landing: Winter Tires & Wipers.
- Oil / air filter if you already know the part; EcoGard lookup stays on the Automotive page.
Snacks & drinks for the drive
- Chips, confectionary, and shelf-stable drinks ship; grab bags for the car or cottage.
- Dairy, frozen, and cold deli: plan for in-store pickup only.
- Kids in the back seat? Juice boxes + a small gift from Rice Lake Weekend staff picks.
Gifts & cottage extras
- Travel mugs, magnets, diamond art, incense, small kitchen gifts — many pieces credit Indigenous makers when we have accurate, opt-in details.
- Read our respectful Hiawatha First Nation note.
